Tom Sachs Guide
Buy on Amazon →The operating manual for the Tom Sachs universe. 528 pages of creative rigour.
Why it matters
Sachs runs his studio like a philosophy department disguised as a workshop. This book is equal parts manifesto, process bible, and visual feast. The core philosophy -- do everything yourself, understand every material, never outsource what you don't understand -- is applied at scale in ways that feel genuinely obsessive. The section on Roman Holiday is one of the most honest arguments for craft I've encountered. Recommended to anyone who has ever chosen to make something properly when they could have done it faster.
